Game Review
Eintracht Frankfurt secured a solid 2-0 victory over SC Freiburg in their Bundesliga clash on Sunday, 1 March 2026. The match, held at Frankfurt's home ground, saw the hosts dominate the proceedings, particularly in the second half, to claim all three points. This result was somewhat expected given Frankfurt's recent form and home advantage. The game remained goalless in the first half, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. However, the introduction of Farès Chaïbi in the second half proved pivotal. Chaïbi broke the deadlock in the 64th minute with a well-taken goal, giving Frankfurt the lead. Jean-Mattéo Bahoya (GAP -0.7%) doubled the advantage in the 81st minute, securing the win for the home side. From a tactical perspective, Eintracht Frankfurt's manager made effective use of his substitutes, with Chaïbi's impact being a key turning point. The home team made five changes during the match, bringing in Ritsu Dōan, Ayoube Amaimouni, Ellyes Skhiri, Farès Chaïbi, and Michael Zetterer. SC Freiburg's head coach also made three substitutions, introducing Cyriaque Irié, Derry Scherhant, and Nicolas Hofler, but these changes failed to alter the course of the game. In terms of individual performances, Jonathan Burkardt (GAP +5.4%) was instrumental in Frankfurt's attacking play, while Robin Koch (GAP +4.0%) provided stability at the back. For Freiburg, Matthias Ginter (GAP +2.0%) and Christian Gunter (GAP +0.7%) were notable in defense, but the team struggled to contain Frankfurt's attacking threats. This victory strengthens Eintracht Frankfurt's position in the Bundesliga table, as they continue to push for a European qualification spot. SC Freiburg, on the other hand, will need to regroup and address their away form to climb up the standings. The result reflects Frankfurt's growing momentum, having now secured consecutive wins, while Freiburg faces the challenge of bouncing back in their upcoming fixtures.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
